BLOOMINGTON - Gary L. Wey, 46, Bloomington, passed Wednesday (Dec. 21, 2005) at his residence.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Fred Belcher will officiate. Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made in his memory to the Community Cancer Center, 407 E. Vernon Ave., Normal, IL 61761.
Gary was born Dec. 20, 1959, in Normal, a son of Stanley T. Wey and Donna Short. A life-long resident, he grew up in Bloomington-Normal and attended Unit 5 Schools.
As a young man, Gary was very interested in science. He once ground and polished a special lens, fitted it to his telescope and camera, and photographed the moon.
Gary had been baptized and confirmed at the former St. LukeÃ s Evangelical Church, which was located at Front and Lee streets, Bloomington.
Gary liked to do yard work and snow removal for his older neighbors and worked at various jobs. He also worked at the former BeichÃ s Candy Co. for five years.
Gary is survived by his mother, Donna Fojtik of Bloomington; his father, Stanley T. Wey of Bloomington; a half-sister in LeRoy; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and a brother, Randy Wey.
Gary will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
