BLOOMINGTON - Geneva P. Sizemore, 81, of Bloomington died at 12:50 p.m. Monday (Dec. 19, 2005) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Her funeral will be at noon Friday at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, with Pastor Wesley Ooms, Community Bible Fellowship in El Paso, officiating. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to American Red Cross.
She was born Feb. 11, 1924, at LeJunior, Ky., (raised in Rogersville, Tenn.), the daughter of Christopher Dee and Mary Louise ìLulaî Wyman Jones. She married John McCoy Sizemore on April 21, 1942, at Hawkins County, Tenn. He passed away Oct. 8, 1976.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann (Paul) Cline of Bloomington and LaDon (Carl) Deerwester of Heyworth; one son; John (Keven) Sizemore of Georgia; eight grandchildren, Kevin (Sara) Powell, Kenny (Lori) Powell, John
(Dotti) Powell, Wesley (Sheri) Jeakins, David Bartlett, Eric (Becky) Sizemore, Melissa Powell and Cathy (Richie) Kelly, and several stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, including a great-granddaughter named for her great-grandmother and great-grandfather, Geneva Ann McCoya Powell, and several stepgreat-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents, one daughter, one brother, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild preceded her in death.
She retired from Eureka Co. in 1988.
She was affiliated with the Southern Baptist faith and was a member of International Association of Machinists and Aero Space Workers.
She was loved by her family, friends and all who knew her. The children will cherish the fact that she will celebrate Christmas with the Lord.
