DOWNS — Geneva Patterson, 89, of Downs, formerly of Louisiana, died at 7:50 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 3, 2005) at home.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. today at Tri-Valley Baptist Church. Pastor Thomas E. Miller will be officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Downs.
Geneva was born Aug. 11, 1916, in Illinois. She married Clarence Patterson Sr. on June 6, 1937. He died June 17, 1994.
Survivors include her children, Jeannie (Richard) Hayes, Downs; Janice (Ronnie) Balla, Jacksonville; Lynda Flowers, Bossier City, La.; Kay (Mark) Bruner, Kemp, Texas; Donna (Ron) Saathoff, Litchfield; Sherry (Carl) Wiley, Haughton, La; Butch Clarence Jr. (Lenda) Patterson, Haughton, La.; and Dennis (Sheila) Patterson, Oak Hills, Calif.
Also surviving are one sister, Irene Rose, Wood River; two half-sisters, Betty and Nancy; 20 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, granddaughter, great-grandson, brother and one daughter, Margaret Marsh.
Geneva was a member of Tri-Valley Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to BroMenn Hospice Care or Tri-Valley Baptist Church.
