FARMER CITY — Georgia N. Wooldridge, 92, of Farmer City passed away at 7:30 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 4, 2005) at Jackson Heights Nursing Home, Farmer City.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, 106 N. Main, Farmer City, with Pastor Dale Cox officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery, Farmer City. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Jackson Heights Nursing Home or a charity of the donor's choice.
Mrs. Wooldridge was born May 12, 1913, at Kell, a daughter of William Calvin and Mollie Hilton Alvis. She married Marion "Cotton" Wooldridge on June 23, 1931, in Clinton. He passed away July 14, 1988.
She is survived by one son, Bob (Marilyn) Wooldridge of Farmer City; three grandchildren, Robbin (Scott) Russell of Farmer City; Cindy (Mike) Langley of Liberty Center, Ind.; and Rory (Courtney) Wooldridge of Clinton; five great-grandchildren, Cierra and Clayton Sessions; Rylee and Tanner Russell; and Hannah Wooldridge; and one sister, Marge O'Brien of Pensacola, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Georgia started her nursing career in 1962 as an aide at St. Joseph Hospital in Bloomington. She then went on to receive her LPN license. In 1965, Georgia went to work for Rex Jackson where she, along with Frank Workman, set up Jackson Heights Nursing Home for operation. She worked there for 18 years until her retirement in 1982.
She will be remembered as a loving, caring mother, grandmothe and great-grandmother and was dearly loved by all who knew her.
