DANVERS — Glenn E. Kaufmann, 87, Danvers, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Sunday (May 8, 2011) at his residence.
A memorial service will be at a later date. The family suggests memorials be made to North Danvers Mennonite Church, Danvers, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Cremation services are being handled by Otto-Argo-Calvert Memorial Home, Danvers.
Glenn was born March 27, 1924, in Hopedale, the son of Henry D. and A. Lora Diegel Kaufmann.
Surviving are his two brothers, David (Kathleen) Kaufmann, Danvers, and Maurice (Elda) Kaufmann, Bluffton, Ohio; two sisters, Ruth King, LaJunta, Colo., and Katherine (Albert) Bauman, Columbus, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Howard and Harold Kaufmann.
Glenn graduated from Hopedale High School, Hopedale, and later Bluffton College, Bluffton, Ohio, where he received a bachelor of science degree in biology and chemistry. He received his doctorate from The American Academy of Asian Studies, San Francisco, Calif. He spent the rest of his life farming with his brother David in the McLean area.
Glenn was a member of North Danvers Mennonite Church, Danvers, faithfully serving as trustee and church historian.
