LeROY - Hanna Clara Doris Holder, 17, of 807 S. Capitol St., Pekin, passed away at 7:36 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 1, 2006) in the emergency room of Pekin Hospital.
She was born June 17, 1988, in Pekin, to Donald Reed and Michele Elizabeth Haller Holder.
Surviving are her mother, Pekin; grandmother and stepgrandfather, Doris J. and Judson Chubbuck of LeRoy; two uncles, John (Anita) Haller, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Ralph (Diane) Haller, LeRoy; and four aunts, Carol (Jerry) Stemas, East Peoria; Alberta (David) Korowicki, LeRoy; Holly (Jeff) Walker, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Barbara (Cary Curphy) Holder, Kansas City, Kan. She also leaves three cats, Maynard, Sis and Fluffy (a.k.a. Mrs. Norris).
She was preceded in death by her father on Aug. 3, 2003, in Normal; grandparents, Ralph Haller, and Bill and Reba Holder; one uncle, Mark Haller; and one aunt, Christine Brown.
She was a 2002 graduate of Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Pekin, where she was involved in basketball, band and volleyball.
Hanna was senior at Pekin Community High School, where she was an honor student and was a member of Scholastic Bowl all four years. She was a member of the Key Club and a Friends Mentor, both this senior year. She also was a dean's assistant her junior and senior years and a member of the PCHS Concert Choir her freshman, sophomore and junior years.
She was a member of Saint John's (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley, where she was an acolyte and a member of the Teens for Christ.
Hanna worked part-time for the Pekin Daily Times in the advertising department, typing legal notices since June 2005, last working Jan. 27.
Hanna enjoyed spending time on her computer, instant messaging her friends. She also enjoyed shopping, going out to eat and going to movies with her friends. She played the piano since age 6 and also played the drums.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Saint John's Lutheran Church, rural Green Valley. The Rev. Thomas R. Wenndt and DCE William Krueger will officiate. Visitation was Friday at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Burial will be in Sand Prairie Cemetery, rural Green Valley.
