NORMAL — Harold “Hal” Wollenschlager, 82, The Villages, Fla., formerly of Normal, passed away Wednesday (May 11, 2011) at The Villages Hospice.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, Fla.
Contributions may be made in Hal’s name to Cornerstone Hospice Foundation, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32278.
He was born and raised in Farmer City. He served in Germany with the U.S. Army and retired from Eureka Williams as an engineer after 43 years of service. After retiring in 1995, Hal and his wife, Hallie, moved to The Villages, Fla.
In The Villages, he was an avid golfer, enjoyed reading and spending time with friends and his two dogs, Missie and Jazzy.
He is survived by his wife, Hallie; daughters, Ann Bierbaum, Pinehurst, N.C.; Sabre Wedeking, Castle Rock, Colo.; and Deanika Schnierle, Bloomington; son, Dan Wollenschlager, Fayetteville, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
