LeROY — Hilda Vernelle Oneal, 92, LeRoy, passed away at 6:50 a.m. Monday (Dec. 5, 2005) at Heritage Manor, Bloomington.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, 101 W. Center St., LeRoy, with the Rev. Tim Vollstedt officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Rebekah service will be at 7:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to L.E.A.S. or American Cancer Society in memory of Rolly Oneal.
Mrs. Oneal was born May 4, 1913, at LeRoy, a daughter of Alvin and Helen Barr Wilson. She married Rolly R. Oneal on June 12, 1935, in Bloomington. He passed away Oct. 21, 1982.
She is survived by two daughters, Norma (Glenn) Hill, Bloomington; and Helen (Owen) Streeper, Bloomington; five grandchildren, Amy (Steve) Larkin, Towanda; Trudy (Jack) Nelson, Normal; Larry (Stephani) Hill, Denver, Colo.; Michele (Todd) Scholl, Little Rock, Ark.; and Brad Streeper, Coronado, Calif.; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margery Ethell White, Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Velma Flanagan Copeland, Genevieve Jackson, Doris Golden Serpinas and Retha Taylor.
Hilda was a 50-year member of May Queen Rebekah Lodge 210 of LeRoy and a member of Rutledge Social Club. She had been a 4-H leader in LeRoy.
She enjoyed bowling in LeRoy and Bloomington, sewing Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls and enjoyed being with her family and friends.
She was a retired General Electric factory worker in Bloomington.
