PONTIAC - Ida Ziehmann, 96, a resident of Heritage Manor, Normal, formerly Pontiac, died at 7:45 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 24, 2005) at the manor.
Her funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac, with Rev. Dieter Punt of the First Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in South Side Cemetery, Pontiac. Friends may call from 2 until 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials be made to the First Lutheran Church, Pontiac; American Cancer Society; or Leukemia Research Foundation.
Ida was born April 30, 1909, in Alexanderfield Bessarabia, Romania, a daughter of Daniel and Maria Schill Brost. She married Albert Ziehmann on May 1, 1930, at Alexanderfield Bessarabia, Romania. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1989.
Survivors include three daughters, Anna (Robert) Fienhold of Mokena; Hilda (Rudy) Heckl of Santa Rosa, Calif.; and Irma (Jimmy) Norris of Mary Esther, Fla.; one son, Gerhard (Christine) Ziehmann of Normal; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Werner Ziehmann; and one grandson.
Ida was a former member of the First Lutheran Church, Pontiac, and was a homemaker.
