James A. Jackson, 64, of Pontiac, died 10 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 13, 2017) at his home.
His funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac, with the Rev. Gretchen Stinebaugh officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with full military rites. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. Sunday until the service at the funeral home. Memorials in Jim’s name may be made to Happy Tails Pet Hospital or Livingston County Humane Society.
Jim was born Aug. 23, 1953, in Catron, Mo., a son of William and Louise (Gist) Jackson. He married Sharon Maxson on July 26, 1975, in Pontiac. She survives in Pontiac; also surviving are three children: Teresa (Shannon) Ziegler, Lexington; Jamie (Sam) White, Bloomington; and Chris Jackson, Pontiac; three grandchildren, Makayla Ziegler, Addison Ziegler and Lexi Ziegler; one brother, Charles Jackson, McDonough, Ga.; and his beloved hound dog, Waylon.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Jackson.
Jim served our country in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1972, stationed in Germany. He was employed in the maintenance department at Anthony Lift Gates in Pontiac for 37 years. He was a member of Pontiac Sportsman’s Club.
