CHATSWORTH — James A. Wilson, 97, Chatsworth, passed away at 7:19 a.m. Monday (Sept. 10, 2012) at Walnut Grove Assisted Living in Merrill, Wis.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Chatsworth. The Rev. William Paton of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow service at Chatsworth Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
James was born June 24, 1915, in Danforth, a son of Albany and Louise Schuenke Wilson.
He married Gladys Wilson on March 12, 1938, at the Lutheran parsonage in Gilman. She passed away Feb. 27, 2011.
He is survived by one son, Ron Wilson, Merrill, Wis.; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) McClelland, Danville, Ky.; Kim (Dave) Quinn and Kerin (Jerry) Jones, both of Bloomington; and Sarah (Mike) Dilley, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Wilson, Decatur; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, James A. Wilson Jr.; one great-grandson; three sisters; and three brothers.
James had farmed and been a carpenter before working for Livingstons of Chatsworth in maintenance until retiring in 1982.
He enjoyed collecting, especially clocks that he would also repair. He enjoyed spending quality time in his workshop. He and his wife were avid garage salers.
James was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Chatsworth.
