WAPELLA - James D. “Jim” Brown, 78, of Wapella died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday (April 30, 2006) at Bloomington Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Bloomington.
A private family graveside service will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery, rural Wapella. The Rev. Nadine Preston will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta.
Born Dec. 2, 1927, in rural Wapella, the son of Gerald and Gene Boyd Brown. He married Ramona Froman in 1951.
Surviving are one son, Kim Brown, Bloomington; two daughters Carol Davis, Jerseyville, and Nancy (Roger) Reinhart, Waynesville; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Navy. He was engaged in farming in the Wapella area.
