BLOOMINGTON - James E. Gallagher, 90, Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., formerly of Bloomington, died May 29, 2007, in Rancho Santa Fe.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday (June 9, 2007) at Restland Cemetery, Mendota, with the Rev. James Kruse officiating. Funeral arrangements are by the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Church for a scholarship memorial fund in Mr. Gallagher's name at Holy Cross School.
He was born Oct. 18, 1916, at Mendota, to James and Ellen Manley Gallagher. He married Eunice Kehm on July 6, 1941. She preceded him in death in 2003.
Surviving is daughter, Nancy (David) Lyon; son, Douglas Gallagher; three grandchildren, James Joseph, Sara and Bryce; and family friend, Nancy Reid.
He was preceded in death by his wife and three sisters, Marcella in infancy, Marjorie Ferguson and Catherine Guilfoyle.
He was employed by Butler & Associates in Mendota in their advertising department. He was a graduate of Mendota High School.
Mr. Gallagher lived in Mendota, Bloomington and Lake San Marcos in Illinois before moving to Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
