BLOOMINGTON - Janet Ann Brumley, 63, of 314 Vista Drive, Bloomington, died at 11:04 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 16, 2006) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Her funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, with Pat Sinn officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born June 30, 1942, in Pontiac, the daughter of Clifford and Delma Carey Milton. She married Kenneth Brumley on April 21, 1967, in Bloomington. He survives.
Other survivors include one aunt, Marian Davenport, Normal; one uncle, Roy (Emily) Carey, Pontiac; stepmother, Mary Ann Milton, Colfax; two brothers, Larry (Alice) Milton and Gary (Jorja) Milton, both of Colfax; six sisters, Penny (Todd) Feehan, Bloomington; Diane (Gary) Conner, Washington; Cindy (Larry) Vance, Texas; Pat Sinn, Bloomington, Ind.; Linda (Harold) Taylor, Lansing, Mich.; and Nancy (Kevin) Smith, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors and co-workers.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Janet retired from Verizon in December 1993, as a facility technician, after 30 years of service. While at Verizon, she was the IAEEE ladies programs coordinator. She volunteered for many organizations, including the Franklin Avenue Health Clinic, the early years of the Humane Society, Americana Nursing Home, BroMenn Regional Medical Center, RSVP, American Cancer Society, Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, was an avid bell ringer with the Salvation Army and was a generous sponsor for WILL.
Janet was a wonderful person, who was very caring and giving. She was totally unselfish and supported anyone who wanted to better themselves. Janet loved her cats.
