CLINTON - Jay Wayne Rasor, 80, of Clinton died at 1:57 p.m. Friday (Feb. 3, 2006) at Dr. John Warner Hospital, Clinton.
No funeral service is planned. He will be cremated. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Rasor was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Wapella, the son of Charles and Sarah Elizabeth Cox Rasor. He married Claretta Lansford on June 28, 1947, in Alton. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Sharon Pierce, Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Ray Wayne Rasor and Larry Wayne Rasor, both of Clinton; one grandson, Jamey Rasor; one granddaughter, Melissa Tarter; and three brothers, Clyde Rasor and Charles Rasor, both of Clinton; and Howard Rasor, Maroa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two brothers and two sisters.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Revere Copper & Brass Inc. and the civil service of the federal government. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed motorcycle riding. He was a loving father, husband and grandfather and will be missed by all.
