BLOOMINGTON - John C. Roszhart Jr., 82, Peoria, father of a Bloomington resident, died at 12:44 p.m. Monday (Feb. 13, 2006) at his residence.
He was born Aug. 6, 1923, in Meadows, to John C. and Freida J. Rediger Roszhart. He married Marcella “Marcie” Cox on July 14, 1979, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, E. Jayne Ferguson, Peoria, and Jeanne Ann (Richard) Arnold, Bloomington; two stepsons, Brandon L. (Christine) Cox, Tampa Fla., and Bordon L. (Kris) Cox, Dunlap; three grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
He worked at Caterpillar in various accounting capacities for almost 44 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the Caterpillar Mixed Chorus, various golf leagues and Arrowhead Country Club. He was president of the Peoria Senior Golf League.
He was a chairman of the audit committee for the United Way annual fund drive.
He was a member of University United Methodist Church, where he sang in the church choir. He volunteered at church as well as the Red Cross and Common Place.
His service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at his church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church and from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Wilton Mortuary, Peoria. The Rev. Bob Lawry will officiate. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
