EUREKA - John F. Schieber, 77, Eureka, died at 3 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 18, 2005) at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1928, in Eureka, a son of John J. And Nora Byrd Schieber. He married Jane Heiken on July 3, 1955, in Eureka. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Judy (Donal) Hughes, Oak Park, and Jennifer Clyatt (Eric Zehr), Peoria; one grandchild, Jessica Clyatt of Peoria; two sisters, Irene (Don) Wey, Heyworth, and Lorraine (Brice) Hallam, Macon; and one brother, Robert Schieber, Eureka.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He served in the Army reserves.
He worked in agri-business in Eureka and Roanoke areas most of his life. In later years, he was employed at Ace Hardware.
He attended Eureka area schools and Illinois Central College. He was a member of the Woodford County Farm Bureau, Bradley Chief's Club and Eureka Christian Church.
His memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Maple Lawn's Memorial Hall with visitation 30 minutes prior to the service. The Revs. Robert Harnish and Richard Richards will officiate. Cremation will be accorded. Private burial of the ashes will be at Olio Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Eureka Christian Church.
