BLOOMINGTON - John M. Heissler, 82, of 2025 E. Lincoln St., Bloomington, died at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 28, 2005) at Martin Health Care Center in Bloomington.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Social Center at Westminster Village, Bloomington. A private burial will be in Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst. East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
John was born April 12, 1923, in Chicago, the son of John M. and Frances Heindl Heissler, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are one sister, Caroline Austino, Mountain Home, Ark.; and friend, Lynn DeVore and family of Normal.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II.
He was an English professor at Illinois State University for many years and professor emeritus after retirement.
