CHATSWORTH — John Wayne Hall, 64, of Chatsworth, passed away at 8:16 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 11, 2015) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pontiac Bible Church, with the Rev. Jarrod Bartholomew officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Chatsworth. Committal and graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Chatsworth Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to South East Livingston County Ambulance Service (SELCAS) or Pontiac Bible Church.
John was born Oct. 4, 1950, in Thawville, a son of Gerald and Eunice Page Hall. He was married to Luvern Gerdes. She passed away. He then married Cynthia Gilder on June 22, 1990, in Chatsworth. She survives.
He is survived by his children, Bryan Smith, Bloomington; Becky (Justin) Pirlot, Bloomington; Joy Ready, Mason; Donald Gerdes, Anchorage, Alaska; and Zoe (Glenn) Pearson, Lafayette, Ind.; his grandchildren, Shawn Ready, Mackinzie Everroad, Kaylee Harris and Haydence and Johnathen Pirlot; his siblings, Linda Calloway and Roy (Becky) Hall, all of Knoxville, Tenn.; Rick (Sue) Hall, Rossville, Ind.; and David (Teri) Hall, Gilman; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.
John worked for Nichol’s Home Shield for 42 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, woodworking and building things.
He was a member of Pontiac Bible Church. He was previously a member, deacon and Sunday school teacher at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chatsworth.
John was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed.
