PONTIAC - Jon E. Simpson, 39, of Pontiac died Thursday (Aug. 10, 2006) at 8:04 p.m. in Pontiac.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Lutheran Church in Pontiac with the Rev. Dieter Punt officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Martin-Burke Funeral Home in Pontiac. Cremation rites will be accorded after the service. Memorials can be made to the family.
Jon was born March 30, 1967 ,in Norristown, Pa., a son of Terry Stanley and Barbara Ann (Benwell) Simpson. He married Marie Myers on April 17, 1998, in Bloomington. Surviving are his wife, Marie Simpson of Pontiac; four sons, Creed Simpson and Kory Simpson, both of Olney, and Matt Price and Steve Gaither, both of Pontiac; two daughters, Jodi Price of Pontiac and Kayla Smith of Goshen, Ind.; his mother, Barbara Chavez of Lakeland, Fla.; his father, Terry Simpson of Lansing; three brothers, Terry and Tony Simpson, both of Pontiac, and Robby Simpson of Wenona; and one stepbrother, Keagan Chavez of Pontiac.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He was educated in Cornell schools, and had been employed at RR Donnelly's. The family requests casual attire at both the memorial service and the visitation as a tribute to the way Jon lived his life.
