FARMER CITY - Juanita M. Pilchard, 77, of rural Farmer City, passed away at 6:17 a.m. Monday (June 18, 2007) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
A celebration of life service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Trinity Community Fellowship, Farmer City, with Dale Schneman and Pastor David Ashby officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at Trinity Community Fellowship, Farmer City. Inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Trinity Community Fellowship. Mrs. Pilchard was cremated.
Mrs. Pilchard was born Sept. 22, 1929 at DeWitt, a daughter of Samuel L. and Sarah E. Thomas Taylor. She married Richard A. Pilchard on July 15, 1950, in Champaign.
She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Pilchard of rural Farmer City; one son, Gregory A. (Betty) Pilchard of rural Downs; one daughter, Joy A. Deem of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Travis (Melissa) Pilchard of Bloomington, Tyler (Beth) Pilchard of Bloomington, Trent Pilchard of Bloomington and Richard Deem of Bloomington; one great-grandson, Hayden James Pilchard; one brother, Roger (Peggy) Taylor of Little Rock, Ark.; two sisters, Ann (Paul) Swearingen of Decatur, and Audrey (John) McCall of Las Vegas, Nev.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Gail Lynn Pilchard.
Mrs. Pilchard graduated from Moore Township High School, Farmer City, class of 1947, and graduated from Burnham School of Nursing, Champaign, in 1950. Mrs. Pilchard was a retired registered nurse. She owned and operated a nursery school in Woodstock for several years.
Juanita had been a home health nurse in Bloomington and Champaign. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Woodstock.
Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, is in charge of arrangements.
