CONGERVILLE — Keith R. Phillips, 66, Congerville, passed away at 9:43 a.m. Friday (May 13, 2011) at Maple Lawn Homes in Eureka, where he was a resident.
His funeral will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Eureka. The Rev. Doug Hicks will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded and inurnment will be at a later date in Olio Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate, Peoria.
He was born June 22, 1944, in Peoria, a son of Robert M. and Lucille Christ Phillips. He married Mary Osberg on Aug. 26, 1970, in Peoria. She passed away Jan. 1, 2008, in Peoria.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah (Steven) McCann, Roanoke, and Jeannette Phillips, El Paso; four sons, Gerald (Marissa) Arnold, Searcy, Ark.; Jeffrey (Angela) Arnold, Pekin; Robert (Kimberly) Phillips, Eureka; and Steven (Sara) Phillips, Morton; one brother, Kenneth (Judy) Phillips, North Carolina; one sister, Mary Phillips, Mississippi; one stepsister, Hilda (Greg) Lipe, Washington; one stepbrother, Larry (Melanie) Lennington, Arizona; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; infant son, Michael; one daughter, Teresa; and one stepsister, Linda.
An Air Force veteran of Vietnam, Keith served his country for 32 years, retiring in 1995 as a jet engine mechanic at the 182nd Air National Guard in Bartonville. He had also worked at DMI in Goodfield and Miller Welding in Washington.
Keith was a member of American Legion Post 466, Eureka; VFW; and Secor Saddle Club.
