ATLANTA — Kenneth Earl McRoberts, 63, Atlanta, passed away at 11:58 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 27, 2010) at his home.
A memorial service for Mr. McRoberts will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Quiram Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta, with the Rev. Jeffrey G. Laible officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery, with full military rites conducted by the American Legion Post of Atlanta.
Kenneth Earl McRoberts was born on Aug. 7, 1946, in Lincoln, the son of Earl Landreth and Frances Hafley McRoberts.
Surviving Mr. McRoberts are his children, Kimberly Ann (Aaron) Vercimak, Bloomington, and Timothy Earl McRoberts, Atlanta; one sister, Vicki (Paul) Eckert, Atlanta; brothers, Terry (Carol) McRoberts, Fayetteville, Ark., and Randy McRoberts, Atlanta; and two grandchildren, Kayla Renee Howe, Virginia, and Lauren Frances Vercimak, Bloomington. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Kenneth graduated from the Atlanta High School in 1964. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1964 and served until 1968. He retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 34 years of service.
He was a member of Eagles Lodge 2708 in Lincoln and a former member of UAW Local 974.
He enjoyed playing golf and shooting pool.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Atlanta Museum or Atlanta Rescue Squad.
