BLOOMINGTON — Larry Richard Gastineau, 64, formerly of Bloomington, died at 4 a.m. Saturday (April 30, 2011) at the Veterans Administration Illiana Health Care System, Danville.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today at Danville National Cemetery. A local memorial service will be at 9 a.m. May 28 at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.
Mr. Gastineau was born Dec. 18, 1946, in Bloomington, a son of Wayne and Betty Gastineau. After graduating from Normal Community High School in 1965, he graduated from the Pentecostal Bible Institute, Tupelo, Miss., in 1969. He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force on March 9, 1975.
Survivors include two sisters, Sandy (Ron) Engquist, Phoenix, Ariz., and Linda Hollowell, Wichita, Kan.; and one brother, Ken (Vickie) Gastineau, Newark, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Donna Mae Gastineau.
He was dedicated to his ministry and his testimony of Jesus Christ to others on the street, on the Internet and everywhere his travels would take him, which included Illinois, New York and California.
He will be remembered for his knowledge and study of the word of God, world history and events relative to the Kingdom of God.
