BLOOMINGTON — Larry Lynn Ehlers, 62, of Bloomington, passed away unexpectedly at 11:43 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 15, 2014) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
His memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, with Bonnie and Tom Lentz officiating. He was cremated per his wishes. He was an eye donor. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the memorial home.
The family suggests memorials made to Eastview Christian Church or Jesus House.
Larry was born Sept. 6, 1951, in Bloomington, the son of Roger Dean and Betty Jean Flanagan Ehlers. He married Lalyia Jean “Taty” Peterson on Feb. 17, 1969, in Cahokia, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Julie (Mark) Giger, Shirley; Jennifer (Jerry) Kanta, Weldon; and Daniel Joseph Ehlers, Bloomington; nine grandchildren, Cale, Zachary, Alex, Autumn, Saylor, Lauren, Abby, Cooper and Kinley; and two sisters, Connie (Keith) Clifford, Normal, and Debra (P.J.) Hankins, Henry.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry owned and operated Rocket Pest Control until his death. He also owned Clean Solutions with his wife, Taty. Larry worked part time at the Carlock Post Office.
Larry loved his children and grandchildren and his boys, “Bubbie and Beans,” with all his heart and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved attending Eastview Christian Church and Jesus House. He was a wonderful, caring and trustful good man and will be missed by all who knew him
