NORMAL — Larry Arthur Pfeiffer, 70, of Normal, formerly of Princeton, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 27, 2015) in Normal.
He was born Feb. 28, 1944, in Aurora and graduated from East Aurora High School in 1962, most recently living in Princeton.
Larry volunteered for the U.S. Marine Corps shortly after graduating high school and spent four years in the service, including a tour of duty during the Vietnam War.
He spent many years living in Walnut Grove on the western shore of Senachwine Lake, near Henry in Putnam County. He wished for his ashes to be scattered on the waters of Senachwine Lake, where he loved to spend his days fishing.
Larry was the son of Arthur J. Pfeiffer and Mayme Tilman Pfeiffer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia McGovern.
Larry is survived by his brothers, Glen (Rene) Pfeiffer, Plano, and Fred Pfeiffer, Princeton; a brother-in-law, Tom (Patricia) McGovern; one son, Dwight E. Pfeiffer, Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter, Arleta A. (Paul) de Dianous, and grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, Alyssa and Isabelle, all of Normal.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1617 E. Emerson St., Bloomington.
