HEYWORTH - Laurence Parker "Larry" Bell, 70, Heyworth, passed away at 10:08 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 20, 2005) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, 204 E. Cole St., Heyworth, with Dr. Robert Guy, the Rev. Kurt Flora and the Rev. Luke Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Bellflower Township Cemetery, Bellflower, with military rites accorded. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Heyworth Ambulance Service or New Horizon Christian Church, Heyworth.
Mr. Bell was born March 15, 1935, at Normal, a son of Edwin and Pauline Elizabeth Humphries Bell. He married Martha Jane Manahan on June 23, 1956, at the First Christian Church in Normal.
He is survived by his
Wife, Martha Jane Bell, Heyworth; two sons, Rick (Kim) Bell, Heyworth, and Russ Bell, Wapella; three grandsons, Heath Allan Bell, Austin Michael Bell and Brandon Reid Bell; two sisters, Nancy (Harold) Diedrich, White Heath, and Judith Ann Hunter, Heyworth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Carol Jane Stoller.
Mr. Bell was owner and operator of Bell's Lawn & Video, Heyworth. He also had been manager of Hasenwinkle Grain Co. in Bloomington and Heyworth for 21 years. Mr. Bell was owner and operator of B&J Trucking, Heyworth.
Mr. Bell served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. He was a member of the New Horizon Christian Church, Heyworth. He loved to be with his family and enjoyed bowling and fishing.
