PONTIAC — Lawrence “Larry” Eugene Baker, 65, Pontiac, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Friday (May 20, 2011) at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac, with Father David Sabel of St. Mary’s Church officiating. Burial will be in Olivet Cemetery, Dwight. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Memorials in Larry’s name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Larry was born May 17, 1946, in Pontiac, a son of Lawrence S. and Esther Peron Baker.
He is survived by one daughter, Laura (Mike) Kovach, Saunemin; one son, Matthew (Amy) Baker, El Paso; three granddaughters, Kaley and Karissa Trost and Emma Baker; one grandson, Ryan Baker; one stepgranddaughter, Melinda (Mike) O’Connor; and one stepgreat-granddaughter, Morgan O’Connor. He is also survived by two sisters, Marie Margherio, Pontiac, and Arla Baker Mainieri, Fla.; one brother, Doug (Kim) Baker, Bloomington; and one brother-in-law, Mike Metzke, Dwight; two nieces; and two nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by one brother, Vincent E. Baker; one sister, Vicki Baker Metzke; and his parents. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
