LeROY — Lee Daniel Collier, 86, of LeRoy, passed away at 11:38 a.m. Monday (Jan. 12, 2015) at LeRoy Manor, LeRoy.
There will be no public services. Inurnment will be at a later date in Salem Cemetery in Mississippi. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy, is handling arrangements.
Mr. Collier was born March 5, 1928, in Choctaw County, Miss., to Willard and Cicsero Buck Collier. He married Betty Sue Bowie on May 13, 1949, in Louisville, Miss. She survives in LeRoy.
Also surviving are two daughters, Paula Collier and Linda (Shelby) Sloan; four grandchildren, Christie (Scott) Williams, Daniel (Meg) Collier, Brandon (Shelly) Litherland and Brandy Litherland; six great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Sue Collier.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Mary, Margaret, Wilner and J.C.; and his beloved son, Kenneth Collier.
Lee and his family moved to LeRoy in 1955. He worked for Rich Plumbing and Heating until his retirement in 1984.
Lee, or “Short,” as most knew him, especially enjoyed time with his dear wife, Betty. They loved traveling, hiking, camping and dominoes. He enjoyed spending time with family and telling old stories.
Lee was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed greatly.
