NORMAL - Leodas "Andy" Anderson, 79, of 1200 E. College Ave., Normal, died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 8, 2005) at his residence.
His funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, Bloomington, with the Rev. Frank McSwain officiating. Burial with military graveside rites will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OSF St. Joseph Hospice or the Community Cancer Center.
Mr. Anderson was born June 23, 1926, at Bells, Texas, a son of Charley and Annie May Beard Anderson. He married Loretta E. Harrison on July 8, 1950, in Grayson County, Texas. She died in October 1975.
Surviving is a daughter, Peggy L. (Robert) Beavers, Newtown, Conn.; his brothers, Charles and Napoleon Anderson, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; and James (Elaine) Anderson, Springfield; and sisters, Sara Joe Edwards, Aurora, Colo., and Lueretta Hamilton, Fort Worth, Texas.

Also surviving is a host of family and friends, especially Louis Jackson, Ron Timmerman, Diana Lewis, Reve Jackson Jr., Holly Schultz, Joyce Clash and Aritha Garrison.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ben Robert Anderson and Frank James Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, Bloomington, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Anderson had worked as a farmer ; mechanic; baker; an auto body repairman for Dennison Ford, Bloomington; and with the Lander Van Gundy Insurance Agency in Normal for 50 years.
Andy's favorite pastime passion was restoring antique vehicles, which he displayed in parades and shows, winning numerous awards. He was especially proud of a 1940 black Ford pickup truck and a 1968 Ford Mustang convertible.
