NORMAL - Lewis L. Zeine Sr., 82, of 1200 E. College Ave., Normal, formerly of Morton, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday (June 19, 2007) at ManorCare Health Services, Normal.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. Dr. Randall Perry will be officiating. Burial will be in Lyman Township Cemetery, Roberts. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the memorial home. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois.
He was born March 23, 1925, in Rome, Ill., the son of Alfred and Myrtle Robinson Zeine. He married Louise Brown in 1943 at Poplar Bluff, Mo.; later , he married Beverly Vawter in 1962; and he married Vera Aubrey in 1978 at Peoria. She died July 20, 1993.
Survivors include five children, Richard (Nancy) Zeine and David Zeine, both of Bloomington; Michael Zeine and Lewis L. Zeine Jr., both of Houston, Texas; and Barbara (Charles) Haynes, Browning; three stepchildren, Betty (Art) Johnson, Arrowsmith; Barbara (Jon) Bogert, Dwight; and Bill (Sandy) France, Hastings, Neb.; two brothers, Ed (Elaine) Zeine, Cordova, Alaska, and Richard (Karen) Zeine, Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Helen Pinkston, Kirksville, Mo., and Diane Hanuski, Rochester, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; and one brother, Robert Zeine.
He was a member Teamsters Local at Peoria. Mr. Zeine had worked as a truck driver, most recently for Consolidated Trucking in Peoria, prior to retirement. He loved to fish and hunt.
