EUREKA - Lewis W. Blunier, 80, of 610 W. Cruger Ave., Eureka, died at 3:35 p.m. on Sunday (April 9, 2006) at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka, where he was a resident.
He was born on Dec. 22, 1925, in Eureka, to Samuel A. and Dena Wuethrich Blunier. He married Clara Louise Schmidgall on June 13, 1954, in Elgin. She survives.
Surviving are three sons, Daryl (Lucy) Blunier of Eureka; Dave (Traci) Blunier of Chillicothe; and Dan (Dawn) Blunier of East Peoria; two daughters, Debra Blunier and Diane (Rob) Gregoire, both of Eureka; three brothers, Henry (Wilma) Blunier and Ben (Wilma) Blunier, both of Eureka; and Homer (Virginia) Blunier of Forrest; one sister, Pearl Leman of Roanoke; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and seven brothers.
He retired from the Eureka Co. after several years of service as a motor inspector.
He served with the U.S. Army in the Korean conflict, where he received a purple heart.
He was a member of the Eureka Apostolic Christian Church, where his funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Roanoke.
