PONTIAC - Lizzie Mae McGowan, 75, a resident of ASTA Care Center, Pontiac, died at 2:40 p.m. Monday (Nov. 6, 2006) at ASTA Center, Pontiac.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac, with Pastor Timothy-;Priest of the Assembly of God Church officiating.-;Burial will be in South Side Cemetery, Pontiac. Friends may call on from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to a charity-;of the donor's choice.
Lizzie was born Aug. 10, 1931, at Blackwater, Va., a daughter of Nathan and Rettie Livesay Collingsworth.-;She married Leon Hall and later married Otto McGowan.-;
Survivors include one son, David Hall, Lansing; three grandchildren, Michelle Rogers, Carrie Hall and William David Hall; five sisters, Eva Sage and Mary Fisher, both of Blackwater, Va.; Cleo Smith, Kingsport, Tenn.; Alice Shoop and Gladys Whittle, both of Pontiac; and four brothers, Lloyd Collingsworth, Blackwater, Va.; Mildred Collingsworth and Willard Collingsworth, both of Auburn Ind.; and Luther Collingsworth, Butler, Ind.
She was preceded in death by one son, William Edward Hall and four brothers.
Lizzie was educated in Blackwater schools and was employed at Pontiac Chair Company for many years.-;
She was a member of the Steelworkers Union and had attended Calvary Baptist Church in Pontiac.
