BLOOMINGTON - Lorraine Pereira, Bloomington, died Monday (May 12, 2008).
There will be a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a visitation at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, West Jackson Street, Bloomington. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Bombay, India, on Oct. 18, 1958, she moved to the United States in 1986 after traveling around the world as an international flight attendant stationed in Bahrain. She came to Bloomington in 1990 from Tallahassee and worked at Mitsubishi, GROWMARK, and finally at State Farm as a life underwriter.

A multi-talented woman of infinite charm, good humor and generosity, she was a fine actress in her youth, a gift she bestowed on her two children, Liesl, 19 (Knox College) and Kieran, 16 (U-High). She is also survived by her husband of 25 years, Kim Pereira (ISU); her mother, Winnie Gomes (wife of late Melville Gomes); and sisters Lynn Dias (Connecticut) and Louella Shetty (New Zealand).
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made in her name to the American Cancer Society for lung cancer research.
