LEXINGTON - Louis A. Rediger, 79, of Auburn, died Friday (Dec. 9, 2005) at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.
He was born May 9, 1926, in Lexington, the son of Emile A. and Viola E. Sommer Rediger. He married Angelina Prieur and they later divorced.
He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He returned to active duty in 1951, and served on the aircraft carrier USS Wasp.
Surviving are six sons including Philippe (Stephanie) Rediger of Auburn; Richard Davis of Springfield; Bruno (Kim) Davis of Danville; and Guillaume Williams of Reinbeck, Iowa; three daughters, including Cynthia (Jim) Whitehurst of Effingham; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn. Inurnment is at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
