BLOOMINGTON —Louise E. Kolb, 79, of Bloomington, formerly of Morton, died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday (April 28, 2011) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Morton United Methodist Church, 420 N. Tennessee Ave., Morton, with the Rev. Paul Walles officiating. Private interment will be in Springdale Cemetery, Peoria, at a later date. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Jan. 7, 1932, in Peoria, the daughter of Fred D. and Laura Peters Eyrse. She married Roger S. Kolb on May 7, 1955, in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are four children, Guy D. (Marcia) Kolb of Virginia, Roger S. (Donna) Kolb II of Willowbrook, Laura A. (Chuck) Bowen of Pekin and Elsie Kolb of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Roger S. Kolb III, John W. Kolb, A.J. Bowen and Rachel Bowen; and a great-granddaughter, Sunny Bowen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather; and her brother, Bob Eyrse.
Louise was a member of the Morton United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where she was fondly known as the “Pie Lady” for her contributions to church dinners. She was an avid bridge player. Louise’s greatest joy was caring for her family.
