BLOOMINGTON — Lucille Carver, 96, Bloomington, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday (May 3, 2011) at Heritage Manor in Bloomington.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington, with the Rev. Clark Killingsworth officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society in Lucille’s name are respectfully requested. Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington, is handling arrangements.
Lucille was born Sept. 3, 1914, in Lucas, Ky., a daughter of Oscar Mosbey and Susan Jane Woodcock Steenbergen. On Aug. 14, 1931, she married Dewey L. Carver in Lucas, Ky. He preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2000.
Lucille was employed for 24 years at General Electric as an assembler. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Bloomington.
Lucille is survived by nieces, Dorothy (Shelby) Wharton, Phoenix, Ariz., and Wanda (Tom) Ogan, Hendersonville, Tenn.; and a nephew, Eural (Diane) Carver, Chandler, Ariz.
In addition to her husband Dewey, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Lucille was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
