STANFORD - Lucille I. Lazoen, 91, Stanford, formerly of Kewanee, died at 10:25 p.m. Thursday (June 28, 2007) at her home in Stanford.
"I ask that there be no visitation or flowers at the time of my death, that a graveside service be conducted for family members only, and my remains be interred with my late husband at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Kewanee." Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lazoen was born Sept. 26, 1915, in Bradford, the daughter of Henry and Nora Lamb Stubbe. She married John P. Lazoen on Aug. 21, 1934, in Kewanee. He preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1973.
She is survived by two sons, Richard (Brenda) Lazoen, Stanford, and Larry (Kate) Lazoen, Port Charlotte, Fla.; one daughter, Marianne Chilausky, Mineral; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Marilyn) Stubbe, Plano; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Donald and John; two brothers, Carl and Lowell Stubbe; and one sister, Iantha Pyle.
Mrs. Lazoen graduated from Kewanee High School in 1933. She worked for 21 years at the S.S. Kresge Co. store in Kewanee, retiring as assistant manager. She enjoyed her hobbies of cross-stitch needlework, quilting and reading. She had resided with her son Richard and family since 1987.
