FLANAGAN - Lyle Ervin Sutter, 82, Flanagan, died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday (June 10, 1946) at his residence.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Waldo Township Cemetery, rural Gridley. A celebration of life memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Prairieview Mennonite Church, rural Flanagan, following the graveside service. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the church. Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Flanagan, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prairieview Mennonite Church or OSF Franciscan Hospice of Central Illinois, Pontiac, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Lyle was born Sept. 19, 1924, at home, southwest of Hopedale, the son of Ervin H. and F. Marie Litwiller Sutter. He married Merna L. Ringenberg on June 27, 1946, at her home in rural Flanagan. She survives.
Also surviving are five children, with whom their home was blessed, Kay (Paul) Kreider, Springfield, Ohio; Donald Sutter, Pontiac; Thomas (Debra) Sutter, Urbana; Jane Sutter, Whiteriver, Ariz.; and Mary Sutter, Indianapolis, Ind.; two brothers, Francis (Jeanette) Sutter, Morton, and Gene (Anna Jean) Sutter, Sun City West, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Kara and Alyssa Kreider and Aaron and Sarah Sutter; and many nieces and nephews.
Lyle was baptized at Hopedale Mennonite Church in Hopedale and became an active member of Waldo Mennonite Church in rural Flanagan, now Prairieview Mennonite Church. Over his lifetime, he served the church in many capacities.
He was a retired farmer and a skilled woodworker.
