CLINTON — M. Eleanor Hoffman, 86, of Clinton, passed away 9:30 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 26, 2015) at Manor Court, Clinton.
Her service will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 12 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Donovan Gardner officiating. Burial will follow at Texas Township Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton.
Memorials may be directed to the Clinton YMCA or the Weldon Springs Foundation.
Eleanor was born Aug. 14, 1929, in Towanda, the daughter of Harvey and Mary Hendricks Rickgauer. She married H. Gene Hoffman on Dec. 9, 1950, in Clinton.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Hoffman, Clinton; children, Robin (Kathy) Hoffman, Twin Lakes, Wis.; Kathy (Mark) Haag, Minonk; and David (Tammy) Hoffman, Decatur; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Edward (Dee) Rickgauer, Tucson, Ariz.; Wayne Rickgauer, Clinton; Donald Rickgauer, Lincoln, Calif.; and Carol (Don) Gardner, Pontiac.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dwight.
She was a member of the Clinton YMCA and the Weldon Springs Foundation. She worked alongside her husband, Gene, on the farm. She enjoyed bird watching, refinishing furniture and bicycling. She was an avid Illini basketball fan. Eleanor was a true American.
