ANCHOR M. Maxine Bridges, 90, Anchor, died at 9 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 18, 2005) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Colfax, with the Rev. Diane Yentes officiating. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax.

She was born Aug. 31, 1915, at Colfax, the daughter of David and Mary Vetter Steele. She married J. Dudley Bridges on Aug. 30, 1936, at Bloomington. He died Aug. 10, 2005.
Surviving are two daughters, Kay (Wayne) Jenkins, Lafayette, and Caryl (and the late John) Atkinson, Bloomington; son, Dennis (Rita) Bridges, Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Doug Jenkins, Jill Klooster, Angie Romani, Steve Bridges, Eric Bridges, Christy Gessler and Lesley Linscott; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and had been employed at the Anchor State Bank for several years.
She was a member of United Methodist Church, Colfax, and the church's UMW group; the Merry Makers Club, Anchor; and she was an avid Illinois Wesleyan fan. She was a Colfax High School graduate.
