DOWNS - Marcia K. Long, 63, of Downs died 8:58 p.m. Friday (April 7, 2006) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center Normal.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, with Gary Hinegardner, Barry Reed and Pastor Curt Rush officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Downs. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
She was born Oct. 14, 1942, in Bloomington, a daughter of Wilbur Curtis and Beulah Sparks Curtis. She married James L. Long Sr. on Sept. 2, 1966, in Bloomington. He died July 23, 1998.
She is survived by two daughters, Jackie Gleeson, Downs, and Jodi (Scott) Mitts, Williamsville; a son, James L. (Stephanie) Long Jr., Normal; grandchildren, Parker J. Gleeson, Brenna K. Long, Joseph J. Long, Kaylee N. Mitts, Eliana R. Mitts; two sisters, Norma (Don) Mason, Bloomington, and Wyonna (Don) Forrest, Farmer City; three brothers, Kenny Curtis, Bellflower; Larry (Connie) Curtis, Peotone; and Lynn (Debbie) Curtis, Roanoke.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a member of Downs United Methodist Church.
Marcia was an office manager for Bloomington Farm Management. She graduated from Dwight High School in Dwight.
She belonged to a Red Hat Society chapter and enjoyed playing cards and bunco. She volunteered at Downs United Methodist Church and Tri Valley School System and enjoyed doing community activities.
Marcia was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be missed.
