COLFAX - Margaret Mulcahey Dorsey, 91, died Tuesday (May 28, 2008) at Country Health Nursing Home in Gifford.
Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence Church, Penfield. Father Jeffery Lawrence will officiate. Burial will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church and from 9 to 10 a.m. before the Mass on Saturday.
Margaret Elizabeth Mulcahey Dorsey was born Sept. 2, 1916, in Colfax, the daughter of William and Catherine Kelley Mulcahey. On May 8, 1946, she married James Edward Dorsey at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Colfax. He died May 4, 1993.
Surviving are two sons, Mark Edward (Jamie Ann) Dorsey, Penfield, and John Malachy (Sharon) Dorsey, Urbana; six grandchildren, Reinal, Maria, Maggie, Rosie, Leo and Patrick; and one sister-in-law, Eleanor Mulcahey, Bloomington;
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son; two sisters, Marie Whalen and Madonna Sweeney, both of Bloomington; and two brothers, Hugh Mulcahey, Champaign, and William Mulcahey, Colfax.

Margaret graduated from Colfax Community High School and Illinois State Normal University. She was a teacher in the one-room country schools of McLean County and later at Penfield Grade School for 10 years.
She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society; Penfield-Gifford American Legion Auxiliary; Country Health Nursing Home Auxiliary; the Penfield Senior Citizens; the Penfield Quilters; and the Retired Teachers Association.
Memorials may be made to St. Lawrence Church or to Country Health Nursing Home, Gifford.
The family has placed their trust in the Wolfe Funeral Home in Potomac.
