BLOOMINGTON — Margaret Shirley Bork, 87, of 1115 Andover, Bloomington, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday (March 24, 2010) at her residence.
Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Luke Union Church, Bloomington. Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. The Rev. Andrew Gifford will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, both at the church.
Memorials may be made to St. Luke Union Church, Bloomington; or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are being handled by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington.
Margaret was born April 16, 1922, in Piper City, the daughter of George T. and Hannah Wiechman Clark. She married Edwin J. Bork on Nov. 26, 1944, in Piper City. He survives.
Also surviving are three children, Larry (Nancy) Bork, Jacksonville; and Lynn (Debra) Bork and Robert Bork, both of Bloomington; daughter-in-law, Connie Bork, Lexington; six grandchildren, Geoff (Kim) Bork, Dixon; Scott Bork, Lexington; Lee Bork, Jeremy Bork and Kristie Bork, all of Bloomington; and Michelle Wills, Normal; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Bork, Lexington, and Myles Bork Alexander, Jacksonville; four sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James; three brothers; one sister; and two grandsons, Corry and Brandon.
Margaret was a member of St. Luke Union Church, Bloomington.
She and her husband farmed in Piper City for 39 years. They moved to Bloomington in the fall 1985. She was very active in the women’s organization of her church.
She loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
