BLOOMINGTON - Marie J. Woelfel, 91, of Bloomington, formerly of Prospect Park, Pa., died at 12:45 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 7, 2006) at Martin Health Care Center, Bloomington, where she had been a resident for the past seven years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Norwood, Pa. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Pa. Visitation will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood, Pa. Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of local arrangements.

Marie was born Aug. 21, 1914, in Irwin, Pa., the daughter of Matilda and George L. Findle. She married Edward A. Woelfel in 1936. He died in 1996.Marie is survived by a daughter, Carol (Jim) O'Donnell of Bloomington; son, Lawrence (Jill) Woelfel of Pearland, Texas; daughter-in-law, Lois Woelfel, Crofton, Md.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Air Force Col. (Ret.) Edward A. Woelfel Jr.; a sister, Berenice Findle Post; and two brothers, Wilfred Findle and Ralph Findle.
Marie was very active in local civic associations in Prospect Park, where she lived all of her life before moving to Illinois. Her church was very important to her and she belonged to many of the volunteer organizations at St. Gabriel's and also the Prospect Park Women's Civic Club. Her life was devoted to her beloved husband of 60 years, and her family.
Marie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
