BLOOMINGTON — Marilyn C. Bonebrake, 84, of Bloomington, passed away Wednesday (Dec. 31, 2014) in Normal.
Her service will be private. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Marilyn was born Oct. 14, 1930, in Bloomington, a daughter of John and Anna Schramm Gielow. She married Frank C. Bonebrake on April 18, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomington. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1998.
Surviving are her children, Clint (Sarah Enz), Wisconsin, and Cherry (Patrick) and Carol, both of Illinois. She was proud of her four grandsons, Ryan (Lauren Mroz), Wesley, Kyle and Riley, and she tolerated her many grand-dogs. In addition, Marilyn had a special place in her heart for her 1972 foreign exchange son, Roberto Ferraris, and his family of Argentina, S.A.
In addition to her husband, Frank, Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and the sisters she loved dearly, Joan Robinson in 2011 and Betty Bittner in 2013.
Marilyn was blessed to have two caregivers who were her angels here on earth since 2013, Lida and Ann. These earth angels, along with the support of Dan Davison over the years, allowed Marilyn a certain freedom to live as she chose.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Though Marilyn and her family did not have a direct connection to St. Jude, it is appropriate to acknowledge the incredible work of this special facility.
We choose to praise Him in this storm.
