MOUNT AUBURN — Marilyn L. Rankin, 76, Mount Auburn, passed away at 8:24 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 18, 2005) in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Berea Christian Church of Mount Auburn. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Berea Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Berea Boosters or Memorial Medical Center Foundation c/o Regional Burn Unit.
Mrs. Rankin was born Aug. 29, 1929, in Decatur, the daughter of Ermel and Helen Elder Powell. She worked for Mueller Co. as a secretary.
She was a member of Berea Christian Church; Order of the Eastern Star; and Christian Womens Fellowship. She married Kenneth R. Rankin on Nov. 20, 1949. He preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1992.
Surviving are children Rita (Leland) Leigh, Bunker Hill; Cynthia (Richard) Wilham, Mount Pulaski; and Jeffrey Rankin and lifelong friend, Karen Erlenbush; and John Rankin, all of Mount Auburn; grandchildren, Elizabeth Leigh, Carlinville; Matthew Leigh, Bunker Hill; and Sarah (Heth) Cooper and Caleb (Emily) Wilham, both of Mount Pulaski; and great-grandchildren, Shelby Perkins and Kenneth Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
