WENONA — Marjorie “Marge” Lindgren, 78, of Wenona, died at 6 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 13, 2015), at Heritage Health in Minonk, surrounded by her family.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wenona with the Rev. Daniel Tuhy officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday at the church until the time of service. Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is assisting her family.
She was born July 5, 1936, in Flanagan, to Harry and Elise Rients Janssen. She married Wally Lindgren on Feb. 18, 1956, in Flanagan.
Marge worked as a custodian at Wenona School, then worked at Monte Casino Nursing Home in Toluca and then Flanagan Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Wenona. Marge loved to cook and bake and was famous for her coffee bread. She enjoyed yard work, the outdoors and farming with her husband. She loved her family.
She is survived by her husband, Wally, Wenona; three daughters, Sandra (Robert) McGrane, Varna; Jane (Bob) Krischel, Wenona; and Susan (Mark) Greskoviak, Peoria; one son, Jerry (Vicki) Lindgren, Wenona; eight grandchildren, A.J., Ryan, Luke, Beth, Nathan, Jared, Abby and Grant; two great-grandsons, Connor and Dylan; three sisters, Kate (Dale) Schlappi and Aldine Craver, all of Pontiac, and Irma (Gene) Barton, Cornell; two brothers, Larry (Cathy) Janssen, Lexington, and David (Deanna) Janssen, Gridley; and sister-in-law, Gail Janssen.
She was preceded in death by a son in infancy, Gary Lee; son-in-law, Joseph Pitts; brother, Leroy Janssen; and brother-in-law, Earl Craver.
