BLOOMINGTON - Marlene A. Carter, 66, Mendota, the mother of a Bloomington resident, passed peacefully on Monday (Dec. 12, 2005) in Mendota Community Hospital, Mendota.
She was born Sept. 17, 1939, at LaSalle, to Anthony and Clara Konczak Kasza. She married Dale Carter on Dec. 20, 1958, in Oregon. He survives in Mendota.
Other survivors include two daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Dudek, Granville, and Jacki (William) Martin, Bloomington; two sons, Michael (Sue) Carter and Mark Carter, both of LaSalle; nine grandchildren; and one brother, Kenneth (Lorraine) Kasza, Troy Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Elaine and Audrey.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Church, Mendota, with Rev. Fredi Gomez Torres officiating. Burial will be at St. Hyacinth's Cemetery, LaSalle, after cremation rites. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today with the rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
She was a member of Holy Cross Church and was employed by Mendota Grade Schools as a cafeteria manager for 22 years.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
