CULLOM - Marvin Satterfield, 83, Cullom, died at 9:08 a.m. Thursday (June 21, 2007) at the ASTA Care Center of Pontiac.-;
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Martin-Burke Funeral Home in Cullom, with Fred Fritz officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home in Cullom. Burial will held at the West Lawn Cemetery in Cullom. The family suggests memorials be left to a charity of the donor's choice.
Marvin was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Elkton, Ky., a son of Hazel and Sally Gilford Satterfield. He married Lola Long in Hopkinsville, Ky., on Jan. 9, 1943.
He is survived by his wife, Lola Satterfield, Pontiac; three sons, Doug (Norma) Satterfield, Pontiac; Darrell (Jan) Satterfield, Cullom; and Grandall (Carolyn) Satterfield, Piper City; one daughter, Peggy Goembel, Chenoa; 11 grandchildren, Jamie Satterfield, Jeffrey Satterfield, Jessica McDermott, Jennifer Satterfield, Samantha Satterfield, Julie Dailey, Keith Goembel, Justin Goembel, David Satterfield, Jason Satterfield and Stacy Dohman; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Jerry Satterfield, and one sister.
He was educated in Kentucky schools. Marvin served our country during World War II. He worked at the Cullom Co-op for 30 years.-;
